This
Holiday season, I wanted to share my gratitude for the
last 5 years and specially for your continued support!
Five years ago, we were simply a small concept to "try
and make a difference". Today, we can, together, proudly
say we have made a difference. But, what I really wanted
to convey, is my personal appreciation for your support
and belief in what we do. I have been forever changed by
the good I see in our community, and our National
community. What I have seen is, not that there are not
enough families, but that there are many, unbelievable
outstanding families willing to step forward and make a
difference in the life of a child, that is
waiting.
I
am not sure how many are as lucky as I am, to do
something everyday that makes me feel like I am making a
difference. What else can you really ask for, what else
is really important? But I do know, that none of this
could have been done with out the support of all of you.
I am blessed to have a supportive family (which I share
below), an exceptional staff, over 900 volunteers and
donors, and over 15,000 folks who have joined our
efforts to change the future for every foster
child.
I
simply wanted to take a moment to share my personal
appreciation. A Holiday Wish from my family to yours and
a success story of just one of the lives we have
changed, TOGETHER. May 2012 bring us more success and
more "forever families" and less waiting
children.
May
you be as blessed as I am in the New Year!

I
want to share with you, on this season of Giving, just
one sample of one simple way we GET to
help!
This
sweet child, is just one of the many we have recruited
for in 2011, she is a very special needs child, we were
asked to recruit a home for her. Granted this was a hard
task and one I was less then hopeful about. But after
one targeted email (an email we send out to all our
families that might be a potential match for a child) to
all our families, my heart was over whelmed with the
response and love of many families WANTING
her.
One
email that took one volunteer less then one hours to
create, found her a home. Below is a copy of the letter
I got from her new "Family" the day after she came
home.
Be
Thankful, as we are truly Blessed!

Hi
Christy,
I
just wanted to let you know that our sweet little girl
moved in with us today! Unfortunately, the plan to have
a gradual transition had to be changed and she needed to
be moved immediately, but she is very happy and smiley
so far today and seems to be taking it in stride! She is
such a sweetheart! She and I held hands for the whole
three hour drive home, and pretty soon I was getting
those wonderful big smiles I had heard about! We feel so
blessed to have her here, and I wanted to let you know
and to thank you for the part you played in bringing her
to our attention. Our bio kids are already so in love
with her, and totally seem to accept her just as she is.
And they think her wheelchair is awesome! :) Once they
asked some questions and understood what she can and
cannot do, what she needs, etc, they were fine with it,
and by the time she arrived today, they were so excited!
So we've had a great first day with our little cupcake
and I want to thank you again!
