Volunteer
Family Adoption Specialists
We
have a Matching Assistance Program that partners
with families that are currently in the adoption
process. This program is geared towards families
who have not yet had a placement and have been in
the process for a year or longer.
The
goal of this program and the task of the Family
Adoption Specialist is to walk alongside families
in their journey. Give them feedback on their
family profile page, perform child searches for
them, correspond with caseworkers on their
behalf and surround them with resources and
encouragement.
While
this may sound as a though it's a difficult
position, please note that all training is
provided by our organization and requires only
that you are consistent and compassionate.
If
you excel in communicating, following up and have
the capacity to give 5 hours a week per family, we
would love to have you. We ask for a 6 month
commitment as families need as much consistency as
possible. |

Social
Workers: See how we can help match your
kids
Quick
photo listing of kids already listed
elsewhere
Have
you already listed your kids and just want to take
advantage of listing with A Family For Every
Child? We can do that! Just fill out this quick
request to
cross-list.
A
Family For Every Child recruits permanent homes
for many foster kids from many different states.
We receive emails and profiles on a weekly basis
from social workers, Wendy's recruiters, and
permanency supervisors.
The
form below was created to assist in registration
of waiting children. We have several child listing
websites. There are public websites and a login
private site for kids that cannot be seen on the
public site. With this registration, the child can
be online within 24 hours. Please enter extra
information in the case worker notes section.
These notes are not for public viewing, but case
worker notes are shared with home studied families
to provide you with a better match for your child.
They
can include the details of what qualities a
successful adoptive family might possess for the
child you are trying to match. They might
be two parents, no younger children, no
animals, current issues/barriers, area of the
country preferred....etc. Think broad and you can
always rule out as you go. We work hard to provide
only studies worth your time. If a child is able
to be placed out of the state, it opens the door
for many more home studies.
We
also have success on the web with in-state
placements. If you would like your child on one of
our sites, or partner sites, please fill in and/or
attach any current bio and images you may have.
Good pictures are very important. If you are in
need of professional images we may be able to
connect you to one of our many volunteer
professional photographers.
As
you move through the form, it should direct you
and answer some of the questions you may
have. If you need assistance, please
call our office at 541-343-2856, or
email
info@afamilyforeverychild.org
or
christy@afamilyforeverychild.org.
If
you would like to publicly or privately list a
child, click this

Child/Sibling
Group Family Searches
At the link below you
will find a "Search" form that you can fill out.
We will then search our database of over 5000
families for you. We ask that you give us 3-4
business days to do so. Once you have filled out
the form below we will enter this information in
our database, pull up families that fit this
criteria and develop a targeted template and email
that will go out to as many as 500 families at a
time. Images are very important, so please do your
best to supply one, it will make a
difference.
Link to
Form
We
ask for your contact information as we will direct
the families to you if they are interested. We do
our best to use the information you give us to
give "you" the families you think will be
successful for your child/children. Please be as
open as you can about area. If a child has to
move, a two hour move may be as dramatic as
one across the country. When open to a bigger
area, you are likely to get a better skilled, more
specific group for your
children.

you have any questions, contact:

Professional
Bulletin Photos
Caseworkers-Recruiters-CASA's
Knowing
how important a good photo is to recruitment,
AFFEC is now offering to take professional photos
for child bulletins. We are committed to
a two week turn around (although caseworker
or foster parent schedules may make this more
difficult).
We
have developed our statewide (and working on our
nationwide) list of photographers, that can,
within a week of our call, photograph a child or
sibling group. Within a week we will email the
.jpg images to caseworkers. We then store all
images for further recruitment tools if requested
by the caseworker. For futher information, click
the link below.

Heart
Gallery
Heart Gallery Application -
The
Heart Gallery exhibits portraits to raise
awareness of the needs of Oregon and Washington.
They wait and hope for their own adoptive family,
mentor, or court appointed special advocate (CASA)
to love and protect them. Professional
photographers volunteer to take compelling
portraits showcased in the Heart Galleries. These
beautifully framed and matted portraits then get
displayed along with the children's biographies in
various venues.
On
average, we receive over 50 inquiries per week
about these children. DHS foster/adoption
orientation class size, adoption inquiries, and
general applicants to DHS have more than doubled
since the inception of the Heart Gallery.

Mentor
Program
Mission
Statement
The
mission of the Heart Gallery Mentor Program is to
bring enthusiastic, dedicated, caring adult
members of our community and unite them with youth
in foster care. To provide someone who can be a
friend, who will encourage and support them
through the various transitions in their life. To
help instill independence, confidence and everyday
life skills they will
need.
Program
Information
The
Heart Gallery Mentor program was created to
provide one-on-one mentoring relationships for
youth who are living in foster care. Youth are
matched with an adult volunteer mentor who has
similar interests (which allows them
to spend time together and form a
friendship). We ask that the mentor spend
approximately 10 hours a month with the youth
doing things like: visiting parks, sports
activities, watching a movie, doing homework, or
talking about what life has to offer the child.
These are just examples; many more options
available.
The
mentor and the mentee will decide what activities
to do together to build a lasting bond. The
mentoring program is designed to bring stable,
long-term relational support to foster youth.
Mentoring relationships can provide stable
emotional support, increase self-sufficiency and
expose foster youth to new cultures and
experiences, thus broadening their vision of "what
could be" in their lives.

matching process,
