Matching Assistance Program
Our matching assistance program is expanding! We are now offering two programs.
Our Matching Assistance programs are geared toward families that have been in the process of adopting a child/ren for a longer period of time. If you have just begun, matching assistance may not be right for you.
Adopting a child from the foster care system, can be a long, emotional and difficult process. We all know how hard "searching and waiting can be.
Be realistic about the children in foster care. Most waiting children are OVER the age of 5 and may fall under one or more of the following categories:
- be part of a sibling group needing to be placed together
- be part of a racial, ethnic, or cultural minority
- have physical, mental, developmental or emotional disabilities
- Children often wait three years or more to be adopted, move three or more times in foster care and often are separated from siblings. The average age of waiting children is 8 years old.
NOTE: Statistical source above is Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System; Department of Health & Human Services (October 2009), unless otherwise stipulated.
Matching Assistance is a password protected site with additional child listings, helping support qualified, current home studied families during their journey to adoption. Many families have a difficult time finding children to submit on as well as being considered and notified by the caseworkers. We pride ourselves on having a very current and reliable web listing of children waiting for their adoptive family. Learn more
Our goal is to come alongside families who have been in the process for a longer period of time, providing them with one on one communication, assurance and assistance in learning how to best represent themselves in their family profile and home study, as well as helping them to do child searches based on what will best fit within their family.
This option gives families the ability to show caseworkers their personality and character through pictures and a bio page. You are NOT assigned a family adoption specialist and your worker is responsible for follow up on any inquiries and submissions on children. CLICK HERE
The matching assistance option supports your family, by assigning a family adoption specialist during your journey to adoption as well as someone who reviews your family materials and gives you perspective and suggestions for your family profile. We will update and follow up on the children you submit on. CLICK HERE
With our membership program, families will feel empowered and hopefully more engaged during this difficult "searching/waiting" part of the adoption process. We all know how hard this can be on families. We are constantly maintaining our website and strive to give families the best support and resources we can.
