Introduction

Our names are Jason and Anna Wilson. I am currently 32 years old and was born in Germany. My wife is currently 32 years old and was born in Colorado. We do not yet have any children I like to play video games, particularly on my off-days during my night shift rotations. I also enjoy playing sports when I get the chance. I enjoy music, with a range in taste, from classical to rock and just about anything in between (except for rap and heavy metal rock). I am also into cooking, building models, dancing, and making/ building different types of things. Plus... I am a huge nerd with addictions to animes, comic books, sci- fi stuff, and some fantasy stuff. I love remote controlled helicopters and cars. But I am a huge lover (along with my wife) of cartoons. Our favorites being a Japanese show called One Piece and Avatar the Airbender. I love coaching youth sports on my military base and Anna is usually my co-coach. Anna enjoys spending time with friends, especially when I am working, and is active in the squadron's spouses group. She is a Key Spouse, who looks after families during deployments. Anna also likes to craft a little when she finds the time, and has made quilts for family members. She cooks, bakes, and likes to invent new things to eat. She is coming around to playing video games, but her passion lies in watching old westerns, war movies, and British television. She is huge into reading and is also quite the geek (closet Star Trek fan). I work full-time for USAF as a USAF Aircraft Maintenance and do not have much of a flexible work schedule. My wife works part-time for DoDDs as a Substitute teacher and has a flexible work schedule. Our ethical beliefs are strongly rooted in our religious beliefs and family cultures. Family is first above all and no matter what the case or situation, family should always be there for each other. People have the right to choose whatever they want, but in that same aspect also have the obligation to be accountable for those choices no matter if they are deemed good or evil. We are pro choice and believe that live is a sacred gift that shouldn't be treated lightly. We do not approve of ignorant violence. Putting your foot down, literally as well as figuratively, is an essential part of life and discipline but should not be guided by anger or negativity. No one is perfect, but we strive to teach and live perfection through our religious beliefs. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and, therefore, Christians. Family is the center block of which the home stands and the teachings of Christ are the guiding light that aid us to walk the right paths. Our religious beliefs can best be summarized by reading what are called the 13 articles of faith. We believe in an eternal family, one that is not separated by mortal death. Anna and I are devoted to our religion, but WILL NOT force our children to choose it. Everyone has been given free agency and we respect this fact. We do not discriminate or speak ill of any religion. Where love is, there God is also especially in the home. Rooted, again, in our religious beliefs and family cultures. Discipline, child rearing, politics, ethics, and other matters are all a part of who we both are based on the homes we were raised in coupled with our religious beliefs. But, they are only a part of who we are and will help us become in the future. We really don't know how to answer this question as it is very vague. If anything our practical beliefs could be summed up in one phrase: We strive to practice what we preach and preach what we practice. Anna and I really don't have favorite sports teams, but like to play the devil's advocate among our friends who have some. We watch TV shows like: the Big Bang Theory, Bones, Once upon a Time, Grimm, Chuck, Warehouse 13, Sherlock, any British comedy or mystery, and Japanese cartoons such as: One Piece, Toriko, Dragonball, Naruto, and Fairy Tail. Movies can be placed in these categories: Family related, Cartoon, Action, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Classic, or Musical. Basically anything Marvel studios, Disney, Nickelodeon, Dreamworks, Lucas Films, or movies that relate to things we grew up with as children ourselves. I am a huge fan of Aerosmith, but between us we like all types of music save a lot of rap and heavy metal. When we gather, we usually gather in living room and make sure chores are completed. Once that business is settled, it is split in several ways. We watch movies, television shows, or some times just listen to music or read. I will have some projects that I will work on, like model building or exercising (running). Most of the time I will usually sit back and play some video or computer games. Anna keeps busy with her projects like quilting or sewing. She spends a lot of time reading and will occasionally play video games with me. We love to have people over for game nights. We will do many of these things individually or as a couple everyday. But to be honest, we like to get out of the house when we can and do stuff in town. We take time to travel together as a family.

Home and Community

We live in Okinawa, Japan. Our home is a single family home. We live in a City/Urban neighborhood. We are not very close to our neighbors. We have two dogs Ceasar and Baxendale.

We coach youth sports and will encourage participation in any sport. Play groups and friends will also be highly encouraged. We will take our children around the island of Okinawa to learn more about its culture and participate in some of its local traditional events. We will support, within our means, any activity our children may be interested in. A variety of sports activities are available on our Air Force base. We coach several of them including: soccer, basketball, and baseball. There is also gymnastics, karate, dancing, music classes, and crafting classes. Each of the schools have their own sports teams as well that function during the school year. There are also opportunities to learn local Japanese cultural activities. We have beaches everywhere which can lead into several activities ranging from surfing to snorkeling. There are language classes to learn Japanese and many cultural events to participate in. We are also one hour away from the third largest aquarium in the world. All military installations have DoDDs sponsored schools that are established for military children. They are public schools that are child oriented with many education programs that strive to nurture well rounded children. We belong to the Cub Scouts, Youth Sports Association, Key Spouse club, 5/6 Sergeants Club, and church organizations.
