Introduction
Our names are David and Chasity Rose.
I am currently 35 years old.
My partner is currently 34 years old.
We have 3 kids.
Our children's names are Evan, Mercedes and Ethan and they are 5, 7 and 9 years old, respectively
Our children are of caucasian and hispanic ethnicity.
David likes sports (watching and playing). He enjoys teaching bible class and spending time with family and friends.
Chasity likes working with animals and dog training. She also likes teaching bible class and spending time with friends and family.
Ethan enjoys playing and reading with his friends.
Mercedes likes playing dress up, swimming and being with her friends.
Evan loves spongebob and playing with his toys.
As a family we enjoy the beach, going out to eat, going to the movies and being at church.
I work full-time for U.S.Air Force as a Military and have a flexible work schedule.
My partner is a stay-at-home parent .
We are a Christian family that spends a lot of time with our church family. We believe in a God center home is the best way to raise a family. We attend a Church of Christ in our area. Our favorite family sport team is Ohio State football. TV shows for the kids is anything Disney, NickJr or HGTV. Mom and dad enjoy "The Walking Dead" (when the kids are in bed), "Grimm", "Person of Interest", and "Who's line is it anyway." As far as movies go, we are not fans of horror but prefer action, superhero, Disney, and Pixar. The favorite in the family now is "Inside Out." Music is mostly country or gospel.
Chasity is a stay at home mom that home schools the children. When school work is done we like to swim in the pool and play. After work hours we spend the evening eating as a family, having bible studies, swimming and walks around the neighborhood.
Home and Community
We live in the State of Florida.
Our home is a single family home.
We live in a Suburban neighborhood.
We are friends with our neighbors.
We have one or more dogs and one or more cats . As a family we enjoy church activities, homeschool group activities, the beach, movies, family dinners, eating out, traveling, and taking walks.
Our community provides sports the children stay active in. We have beautiful beaches that take up a lot of our time.
We are a homeschool family so we don't know the schools personally. We do know they have good ratings and many of our friends speak highly of them. They provide a good range of activities for all the children. The teacher-student ratio is smaller than most schools. There are many private schools also.
Parenting Experience
We have a son with ADHD and needs constant reminders. Our youngest son was adopted at a young age and is of a different race. Our daughter is quiet but they all need to hear how proud we are of them. We have learned that each child learns differently and need different things from mom and dad.
We are a loving and active family. We help each other in good and bad times.
David is a pediatrician and allergist. He has a sister with cerebral palsy and has learned patience and stability. Chasity has a sister with bipolar and a nephew with aspergers. She has learned to go with change and create new stability when needed.
We have completed the MAPP and when we were in Texas, completed the Pride classes.
Support
We have a friend that is a family therapist and seek his advice on issues that may come up.
Our family is very large and very supportive of our decision to adopt. The church we attend has been helpful in our adoption walk.
Motivation to Adopt
We want to adopt from foster care because there are so many children that need homes. We are a good, Christian family that can provide a safe environment and stable home. Things all children need to grow. Love is what we have and seek to give.
