Preference Description

We would like a child that would like to become part of a loving household with a bi-racial family that can experience travel and growing up in a secure and safe home.

Meet Domonique and Jeremy

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to learn about us and considering us as potential parents for adopting a child. We are a happily married couple from Maryland right outside of the city of Baltimore. Although , we are always active in our nieces and nephews lives, we have no children of our own. We are hoping to be matched with a single child or sibling group between the ages of birth to twelve. We would like to adopt a bi-racial, African American, Caucasian, or child of Hispanic or Latino descent. My husband and I have our own little four-legged family , we have three dogs named Cloud, Kimmy, and Harley. As well as the soft and snuggle cat, named Sookie.

Introduction

Jeremy and I have been married for over four years and settled down in a suburb of Baltimore County named Towson . We met while serving in the military, and Jeremy is veteran who served in Operation Enduring Freedom. We have a mutual love of travel and adventure, which is what drew us to each other and we hope to share those experiences with our children. One of our favorite travel destinations is historic Savannah, Georgia we consider it, "our home away from home." We have had great memories visiting San Diego, California and we have made two yearly trips to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, Florida.

Jeremy works as an Information Technology Specialist for the Department of Defense located in downtown Baltimore. He works regular office hours during the week with weekends off. Jeremy's management understands that family comes first and has flexible leave and sometimes telecommutes from home. Jeremy's main hobby is comic book reading and collecting. He also enjoys Star Wars and most science fiction television shows and movies. Despite his more pop culture interests, Jeremy also enjoys watching football and is a fan of the Baltimore Ravens.

I am a Paramedic and work for the Baltimore City Fire Department. However, for the past two years I accepted a long term detail which allows me a flexible schedule and liberal leave. I perform the duties of a Medical Information Specialist and share a similar schedule to Jeremy. I enjoy hiking the trails at the nearby Gunpowder State Park and walks around Baltimore's Inner Harbor. I also enjoy being a patron of historic bed and breakfasts at local establishments and in cities like the beautiful Savannah or hip Charleston, South Carolina.

Home and Community

We live in the family friendly community named Knettishall which is a collection of townhouses located in Towson, Maryland about thirty minutes from Baltimore. We are also active members of the Merritt Athletic Club which hosts a variety programs for youth of all ages. Our community is also nearby to Pleasant Plains Elementary, Loch Raven Academy, and also the prestigious preparatory school; Calvert Hall.

Parenting Experience

We have completed our adoption training through our adoption agency, which provided information on child development, effects of trauma, grief, loss, and transition. We have babysit our family friend's child from time to time for several hours at a time. Our nieces and nephews are also active in our lives, as we take the for day trips to the mall, beach, and other local destinations for fun.

Support

We have had tremendous support from our adoption agency and case worker. While we attending our training classes we have maintained close relationship with other families waiting to adopt.

Motivation to Adopt

We truly feel like we can be great parents to children who love animals as much as we do and thrive on individual attention. We feel as though we can offer a child a structure schedule and have resources lined up for anything that may come our way down the road.
