Family Description

We are a family of four looking to adopt (Dad, Mom, and two boys-ages 10 & 8). Adopting is something we have talked about for years for multiple reasons. We feel the time is right, and we are ready to open our arms, hearts, and home. We attend church regularly, and strive to put God first in our lives. We know that children are a gift from Him, whether biological or adopted. We are an active family who love to play sports, swim, camp, hike, kayak, and much more! We also like games, puzzles, reading, and watching movies and TV. We love traveling together to experience new things and make lasting memories. We are so excited for the possibility of growing our family!

Preference Description

We are looking to adopt a girl between the ages of 4-6. We are also open to adopting sibling groups on a case by case basis. We are willing to accept minor or medically correctable conditions.

The Beeker Family Profile

We would like to adopt a girl who is less than 8 years old, any race. We are open to a girl or a sibling group of girls on a case by case basis. We feel we can accommodate a sibling group of up to 2 kids. In general, We are looking to adopt a girl/girls between the ages of 4-7. We are willing to accept minor or medically correctable conditions.

Introduction

Our names are Heather and Christopher Beeker. I am currently 34 years old. My husband is currently 36 years old. We have 2 boys. Our children's names are Ryan Beeker and Nathan Beeker and they are 11 and 9 years old, respectively. Our children are of caucasian ethnicity.

I work part-time from home for Thrivent Financial as an office professional and have a flexible work schedule. My husband works full-time for Harris Teeter as a District Manager.

Home and Community

We live in the State of South Carolina. Our home is a single family home in a great neighborhood. We attend a nearby church. Our children enjoy playing sports such as flag football and soccer. We like to enjoy family time by riding bikes together, going hiking, camping, traveling, and much more.

Parenting Experience

We have completed the Heartfelt Calling training which helped us realize the situations and traumatic experiences children who are in foster care or are being placed for adoption have been through. Also, through raising our children, we have learned a lot about how to deal with certain situations that may arise.

We have a great support system of family, friends, church family, and neighbors who are always there in time of need.

Motivation to Adopt

We have felt a calling to adopt since years before we started this process two years ago. We realize this will not be an easy transition, but a challenging and rewarding one. We are very excited to see what the future holds for our family.
