The Cowley Family Profile

We are looking to love and adopt a child or sibling group of two, under the age of 8 years old. We are open to adopt a child/children of any race and gender. We are open to children with special needs, such as minor to moderate physical, emotional, or developmental conditions, like a child/children with special needs such as PTSD, attachment, ADHD, or learning delays etc. We believe remaining in contact with those who are important and safe for our children is necessary. We will embrace those relationships!

Our names are Justin (26) and Haley Cowley (24). We currently no children, but cannot wait to meet our sweet our sweet child/ children. Justin works full-time as a Registered Nurse and I am a campus minister on a college campus. We love the flexibility of our careers and cannot wait to spend lots of time loving on our kiddos.

We love hanging out with our family and trying new places to eat. We have a big backyard that we hammock, chase our dog, and play sports in. We enjoy going to sporting events together, going to the movies, or going canoeing. We attend a wonderful church and love our community in Murfreesboro, TN. It is a big and diverse town. There are so many local things to visit and do.

Home and Community

We live in the State of Tennessee. Our home is a single family home. It is 1700 sq ft with 3 bd and 2 baths. We live in a Country/Rural neighborhood that is ethnically diverse neighborhood. We have wonderful schools that are a ten minute drive from our home.

Parenting Experience

We both have had experience with children, primarily through being around our family and friends children. We have many close friends that we consider to be like family. We often babysit our nephew and friends children and simply enjoy being around them. We have also served in our church by working in VBS and Sunday School class. We thoroughly enjoy being around children and strongly desire to parent children. We have a great love for children and a great capacity to give and receive affection, as well as the ability to provide for a childs physical and emotional needs. Justin is trained as a nurse, so he has extensive training that is beneficial for our family as we seek to adopt children with various medical conditions.

We have a big family and we love spending time with them. We already feel so supported and loved in the adoption process by them. They are actively learning about transracial adoptions. Our church is also very active in helping support us in adoption. We have a large community in Murfreesboro that have adopted and some who have adopted transracially. Our local pediatrician is ready to help our family in whatever way possible. We have also been given advice on various counseling centers and schools that have programs that help children with various special needs.

Motivation to Adopt

We feel strongly that adoption is an amazing thing! We feel that the Lord has called us to adopt and we are so grateful for the opportunity to welcome our children in our home! We have joined support and discussion groups about adoption and specially about transracial adoption. We believe it is important to be educated on these topics. We have been studying Dr. Purvis's material that goes along with her book, The Connected Child. We are grateful for our unwavering support system and counsel from those who have adopted.
