Oregon Children
Abreanna and Gabriel are a perfect match. Abreanna, who goes by Abre, is playful and fun and Gabriel, who goes by Gabe, has a sheepish grin, that will make anyone smile. Abre and Gabe are currently living separately, but see each other twice a week. Their attachment and bond is apparent to anyone, and Gabe loves telling others about his big sister.
Abre is an active girl who loves to be outside. She enjoys swimming, hiking and many other outdoor activities. She is extremely creative, whether she is mix and matching the colors and patterns of her clothing, or excelling in art. Abreanna enjoys helping and loves being a big sister to Gabe. She always want to care for other people, especially Gabe! Abre is doing very well in school, and thrives when placed in a daily structure or routine.
Gabe is a busy boy who loves cars and trucks. His favorite cars are emergency vehicles, because he loves seeing the lights flash and hearing the sirens. He also enjoys being outside, and plays well independently. He loves to snuggle, especially with his favorite stuffed animal that he brings with him to bed every night. Gabe is involved in intervention services that assist him with delays in his social, motor and speech skills. He will begin preschool in the near future.
Abreanna and Gabriel would do well in a home where the family is able to provide structure and a consistent daily routine. If clear rules, expectations and limits are placed, the children will respond and thrive in this type of environment. Both children require nurturing, praise and encouragement. Their adoptive family must be supportive during their transition and willing to participate in counseling with the children. The family chosen must also be open to ongoing contact with an adult sibling and a half brother, who is living with his father and possible the birth mother.
