Arizona Child
Johnny has some very specific ideas about what he's looking for in a family: an older brother or sister. Why older siblings? 'They seem like you would get along with them,' Johnny answers. Asked if there's anything else important to his forever family, Johnny responds, 'At least one pet or more, a doggy or a cat, or both.'
Johnny can sometimes feel overwhelmed when he meets new people and visits new places. Although he sometimes has trouble communicating his needs, he knows that he would get along well with an older brother or sister.
'Having a big brother or sister would be an excellent environment for Johnny,' said, Johnny's adoption recruiter. 'They could act as a role model for him and help him face the world and its challenges. They could also teach him how to deal with new situations and experiences.'
One thing that Johnny won't need any help with is science. It's not only his favorite subject in school, but also one of his favorite things to talk about. He loves the classroom activities and experiments that they do. Johnny is also a 'computer genius', and he enjoys playing computer and video games.
'He knows the ins and outs of computers and how they work,' she added. 'He would love playing games with other kids.'
When he's eating, Johnny isn't picky about what he wants. His favorite type of sandwich is plain, but not just plain bread. 'I like the original plain,' said Johnny. 'Just bologna. Unless I'm really hungry.' He also loves old-fashioned hamburgers.
Johnny is a smart kid and a great reader and even demonstrated a bit of his ability by reading from one of his favorite books, God Made You Special. He is looking for someone who will make him feel special and be in his life long-term. When Johnny feels insecure, he likes to have his backpack or blanket around him.
Johnny needs an environment where he can trust an adult and know that they are going to love him unconditionally, He needs someone who can be that human security blanket for him and be there, whether it is a good day or a bad day.
He does really well when he builds a trusting relationship with somebody.
