Sabrina is a young teen with a happy and helpful disposition. Her current caregiver states, 'Sabrina likes to help around the house with dishes, taking out the garbage and helping me pick up things at the grocery store.' Sabrina likes to give and receive hugs and kisses and loves to be tucked in at night. She is happiest playing outside and enjoys swinging, climbing, swimming, riding her bike and playing basketball or kickball. When indoors, Sabrina likes to watch cartoons or play on her video game system. Additionally, she likes to draw, color, share her pictures with others and play with her dolls and doll house.

Sabrina is very determined when trying to communicate and she tries very hard to indicate her wants and needs. Her difficulty with expressing herself can be frustrating to her but she is working on developing positive outlets to voice herself through. Sabrina is a very loving girl who requires an abundance of attention. She is learning to maintain a consistent daily routine but will need guidance and encouragement to help keep her on task.

Sabrina is in need of a family that will be able to offer her a consistent and loving home environment. The family will need to help Sabrina develop and maintain a regular daily routine. The adoptive family will need to make a commitment of time and energy to care for Sabrina's needs. The family should have experience or familiarity of parenting children who have special needs and who are non-verbal. It is important that the family have a strong support system that will be able to assist them in advocating for Sabrina's needs. Sabrina would do best with consistent supervision and monitoring. A family who knows American Sign Language may be beneficial to Sabrina as she is learning how to effectively communicate her wants and needs; however a family that does not know sign could quickly learn the words Sabrina uses. It is recommended that a family maintain some contact with Sabrina's older brother and maternal grandmother as they are very important relationships to her.
