FLORIDA CHILD
Christopher has been in foster care most of his life and he is still waiting for a family of his very own. Christopher is a very special young man. He has a wonderful, infectious smile and he can be very engaging. He has Cerebral Palsy with quadriplegia as well as abnormal brain development and a thyroid gland that does not function correctly and so he requires total care. He also has a curvature in his back that has received a spinal fusion. His muscles tend to be stiff. He spends most of his time in his wheelchair but he can scoot along on the floor. He is vocal but does not use words. He enjoys eating baby food by mouth but he receives most of his nutrition through a Mickey button in his stomach. Christopher needs a very special adoptive family who can meet his many medical needs, manage his numerous medications, keep up with his different equipment and orthodics, and take him to his various medical appointments and therapies. In other words, Christopher needs a family as very special as he is.
