- Due to current government restrictions on large gatherings, we have decided to take Hero for a Day online! This action packed day will shows all children the hero that they can become. Bring your child into the Zoom Room where they can meet their favorite heroes. This day includes activities and visits with firemen, police, doctors, lots of dogs and so much more! We hope our community will be able to come together and thank our local heroes for continuing to keep us healthy, safe, and fed during these unprecedented times, all from the comfort of home.
Our first Virtual Hero for a Day was a great success and couldn't have been done without the help of many of our community members and supporters. Over 50 children and their families tuned into the Zoom webinar and we saw presentations for over 20 different community supporters.
Stay tuned to this page for an official event wrap up and listing of all of our sponsors, volunteers, donors, and supports of this year's event.
Due to the unprecedented nature of COVID-19 and the updated state guidelines for crowd sizes, we have decided to turn Hero for a Day into a virtual event. We take our community measures very seriously and would never cancel or postpone an event unless absolutely necessary. We understand the inconvenience this may cause. We hope our foster community and overall local population will feel rest assured we are doing everything in our power to secure this event, as it means so much to who we are as an organization. Please join us online on July 11th on Zoom and help us make this a successful first virtual event.
Calling All Heroes!
This event allows foster children and community children alike to be transformed into the heroes we know them to be. Hero For A Day is for children ages 2 to 18 and is a day filled with tons of fun activities designed to create an educational and fun experience for all of our heroes while we raise awareness about our foster care system and the children in it waiting for their forever families. Through Zoom, you and your child will get to see your favorite superheroes, and the local heroes we see saving lives everyday.
We want to also use this event as an opportunity for our community to thank our local first responders and frontline essential members during this health crisis. Without them, we would not be able to hold this event and continue serving our foster community.
This event is free, but we do ask you to register before the event if you can. Each registration comes with the opportunity to come and pick up a Hero Kit from our office to utilize during the event. If you live out of town and want a kit, we can ship one to you (just pay the cost of shipping). Email firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about your Kit.
We will contact each registrant individually with details and to give you the Zoom code to log in before it starts.
