The McTaggart- Family Profile
We are hoping to provide a loving home for a sibling group with an age range of 0 to 12 years old. The best fit would be a sibling group wherein the children have minor or moderate medically correctable conditions or needs.
My name is Ingrid McTaggart. I am 51 years old. I have 5 children: Clementine, Kiernen, Malcolm, Finnegan and Rupert and they are 13, 12, 7, 7 and 3 years old, respectively.
I work part-time for myself as a attorney in my home office. I have a flexible work schedule.
We are an active family. We go on several camping trips and beach trips each summer. The kids play soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, baseball in the spring and swim team in the summer.
Home and Community
We live in Portland, Oregon, in a 100 year old craftsman bungalow with a big, kid friendly yard. We have a trampoline, a huge sandbox, a play structure, and lots of berries and trees. We live within walking distance to all our schools and near a wonderful park. We have one dog, two cats, a turtle, two fish tanks and four chickens.
I currently have five children. During a previous marriage I parented my ex-husband's seven children, ranging in age from three to sixteen. We had two children together during the marriage so I was parenting nine children. My oldest daughter was born deaf and one of my step children was diagnosed with cancer. I was the primary caretaker in our family and so I took these two children to their numerous doctor appointments and surgeries.
I am a calm parent that keeps to routines and I have a lot of energy and love to give to my children.
My mother lives a mile away and comes to our house almost every day. I have lived in our neighborhood for ten years and have wonderful neighbors that all help one another. I know many of the parents at my children's schools and we have a large network of parents that help one another whenever needed. I also have a great group of friends at church that give each other support.
Motivation to Adopt
I feel I am called to give a foster child or sibling group a home. No child should be without a loving home to grow up in.
