7th Annual A Home For The Holidays Thursday – November 10, 2016 5:30 – 9:30pm *** Next Thursday, November 10th is our 7th annual holiday auction, and on behalf of A Family for Every Child, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to partner with us to support this worthwhile event benefiting foster children in search of their forever families. The event will be held at the Valley River Inn, and consists of dinner, auction packages both large and small, our famous dessert dash, and a beautiful holiday celebration. Individual tickets are only $75.00 for a delicious meal and fine wine! 2016 is an important year in the life of our organization, as we are celebrating our 10th year serving foster children both locally and nationally. Over this past decade with your help, we have been able to place over 5,000 Children, 1,500 Sibling Groups, 1,600 Minority

Benito, Age 11 Benito is a loving youth who smiles often. He can be very affectionate to his caregivers and loves to have physical contact or connections with others. He has a lot of energy and loves to go to the park. Benito also enjoys watching the movie Cars and loves playing with his Car toys. He is non-verbal and communicates through the use of signs. He receives speech therapy and is improving and learning new ways to communicate to others. At times, Benito’s mood will change suddenly. He also will throw temper tantrums if things don’t go the way he planned. Benito prefers to be and does best around few people.   Volunteer this summer to help your local  A Family for Every Child and foster kids in the area! Here’s how you can help: 1.) “Hero for the Day” On June 18th, A Family for Every Child will host its 3rd annual “Hero for a Day” event! Children from the ages of 2 to 18 get the opportunity to be superheroes for the day at this educational and fun event. AFFEC needs your help to raise awareness about the foster care system in Oregon! BJ’s Restuarant & Brewhouse  On February 18th, the Eugene BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse will host an evening of “laughter and yumminess”. 15 percent of the proceeds will go to help A Family for Every Child. Often the holiday season is associated with volunteer work and the generosity of individuals to help their communities. However, the need for volunteers, donations, and more exists 365 days of the year, and with so many options to choose from, giving back, particularly to foster children, is easier than ever. This back to school season check out the number of donation drives that are available nationwide, as well as locally in the Eugene area. 1.) Bring any donations that include school supplies, athletic shoes and apparel for physical education classes, and other clothing for the back to school season to any Sleep Country in the Northwest. By: Jennifer Richardson EUGENE, Ore. — There are dozens of kids from Lane County living in foster homes.The young adults are getting great care, but that doesn’t mean they don’t need a little more positive influences in their lives. That’s where A Family For Every Child’s mentor program comes in. It serves at risk children in need of permanent connections.Katrina Purdy and Dominique are best buds. Katrina is Dominique’s mentor with A Family For Every Child. It’s a non-profit organization dedicated to pairing caring adults with youth in the foster care system.“I really believe this is one of the best things that I have ever done in my life,” said Purdy.“It’s helped me because its just time to spend with another person to just have fun,” said Dominique.Dom has been living with her foster family for five years, and they are offering a loving home to other children, so she says the extra attention from
