In 2022, we had over 300 Princesses attend the event, and we truly could not have done it without all of our amazing donors, sponsors, and volunteers. We are amazed and incredibly thankful for the outpouring of love, compassion, and effort our community partners lend to this event each year. Thank you for your interest in supporting A Family for Every Child's 15th Annual Princess for a Day event. Through the continued support and generosity of our community members, we are able to continue bringing this amazing event to foster and non-foster children alike.  In 2022, we had the privilege of serving over 300 children and providing them with memories and experiences that they will cherish for a lifetime. Our princesses run from ages 2-18, so we need items of all sizes.

Our largest need right now is dresses in child sizes 6 - 12, and shoes in child sizes 10 - 5Y. You can bring or send your donations to our office anytime Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 5 pm.  Our office is located at 1675 West 11th Avenue, Eugene, OR 97402. We also have donation boxes located around our community, at PacificSource Springfield (555 International Way, Springfield OR 97477) and the Eugene Police HQ (300 Country Club Road, Eugene OR 97401).

And throughout the year...

Please keep us in mind throughout the year when you are recycling your children's costumes and dress-up apparel, holiday or special occasion dresses, as well as other princess-themed items.  We collect donations all year long with the hope of growing our event to serve more foster children each year.
 
Our Princess for a Day event has been so incredibly supported by our community and has grown at an amazing pace.  It is our goal to be able to share this event with other organizations nationwide so that they can create their own Princess for a Day event to serve the foster children in their communities.

Volunteer

It takes a kingdom to make Princess for a Day possible and we hope you will join this year's royal court in celebrating all the beautiful children of the land! This event is made possible with the continued support of our community and the help of a lot of volunteers. There are a wide variety of areas where you can volunteer; take a look at the list below and find something that piques your interest.  Our volunteer shifts average 4 hours unless you sign up for more. 

*All volunteers must be 18 years of age, or be chaperoned by an adult. Shift needs are subject to change based on COVID restrictions at the time of the event. We will be in constant contact with all volunteers leading up to the event to ensure everyone knows how we will be proceeding.

Princess for a Day

The Royal Treatment

  • The princesses will each begin their journey in the Princess Salon where their personal Makeover Team will assist them with choosing their tiara followed by hair, make-up and nail services. Don't forget to ask about our Glitter Station! 
  • Next, the princesses will move to the Royal Dressing Boutique where our Princess Stylists will help them select a gown, slippers, and accessories!  
  • Each princess will commemorate the event with a personal photo session with one of our professional photographers and receive one photo quality print as a keepsake.
  • Finally, each princess will be announced from the red carpet as they make their regal entrance into the Royal Tea Party room where refreshments will be served and dancing will commence!  Keep an eye out... there may be Disney Princesses among us!
  • Every princess will get to take home their gown, slippers, and crown!

*Each princess chaperone is required to stay with their child(ren) the entire event.  Children may never be left unattended.

Princess for a Day 2018

Thank You!

What an amazing day it was! It was our best year yet. 370 princesses walked down thered carpet this year, and spent the day dancing to their favorite Disney songs with their favorite Disney princesses.

We could not have done it without our amazing donors, volunteers, and princess. This event is only possible because of the amazing community we live in. We asked and YOU delivered! We had over 1200 dresses, 650 tiaras, 550 pairs of shoes, all of it donated by YOU! Local businesses donated all of the food provided at the event. We had 110+ volunteers who came out to make this day possible. Every year we are blessed by the amazing people that work to transform our children into princesses!

Registration Information

You are invited to a royal event for all the magnificent children in the land. Our Princess for a Day event provides a unique experience that will last a lifetime and creates unforgettable memories for foster children and community children alike. During this event, our “princesses” experience a day of pampering fit for royalty. A fun-filled day of makeovers, a photo session, even a red carpet entrance into the Princess Tea Party completes this memorable journey.

Foster children are granted free admission. General admission for non-foster princesses is $50.00 per child. ALL children are welcome! While walk-ins are welcome, advanced registration is strongly suggested to secure your preferred time slot. Each registered child must be chaperoned by their King or Queen (parent/adult representative). Due to limited space, we can only accommodate one King or Queen per registered princess, so please plan ahead accordingly.

Ticket Information

Once you have completed the registration form, you will receive a confirmation email, and          physical tickets will be mailed to the address provided. If you have registered a non-foster child, please follow the link provided to purchase your ticket(s).

Registration Form

Begin your registration by selecting your session time, in order of preference. Each session is 90 minutes and we schedule in 15 minute intervals. For example, if you select Session 1 (10:00am-11:30am), you may be scheduled to arrive at 10:45am. It is not necessary to select the same session for more than one choice. We will always default to your 1st choice, if available. If you do not provide additional session choices and your preferred session time is unavailable, we will assign your session time at random.

Princess for A Day Event Tips

We strongly suggest that all children wear shorts and a tee-shirt or a bathing suit under their regular clothing that can be worn under the princess garments. We have limited dressing rooms and this can ensure that they can try on/change with ease and without delay. Please bring a bag (with their name on it) to carry their belongings.

The attending parent/guardian, caseworker or foster parent is solely responsible for the registered child(ren) and is expected to remain in attendance and to supervise the registered child(ren) throughout the entire event. The Valley River Inn, A Family For Every Child, its volunteers and technicians cannot escort any child to the restroom.
