We would like to adopt a child between the ages of 3 and 8 inclusive. We would like to adopt either a boy or a girl. We feel we can accommodate a sibling group of up to 1 kids. We prefer to adopt a child of Caucasian, Hispanic, Asian, Biracial, Mixed or any ethnic background. We are open to children with special needs. We do not mind having contact with the child\'s biological parents (by phone ) provided the parent was/is not abusive to the child. Introduction

Our names are Carol and James. I am currently 49 years old and was born in East Patchogue New York. My partner is currently 66 years old and was born in Buffalo New York. We have 4 kids. Our children's names are Gabrielle, Olivia, Chloe, and Sophia, and they are 16, 8, 8 and 14 years old, respectively. Like us, our children have a Caucasian ethnic background. I spend most of my spare time volunteering at my children's school, exercising, and traveling with the girls during school breaks. My husband spends his free time volunteering at the schools, walking, playing golf and traveling with our girls during school breaks. I am a stay-at-home parent and have a flexible work schedule. My partner works full-time for as a Builder and has a flexible work schedule. Our ethical beliefs are to stick with the truth at all times. To be honest and helpful and true to your word , your heart and your family!!! Our spiritual beliefs are very similar to our ethical beliefs. We practice these beliefs on a daily basis, while attending church weekly and religious instruction classes to form a "family path"t our Catholic faith. Our practical beliefs are also tied into our ethical and spiritual beliefs. We feel they must all be linked together. We are true to our word, keep promises, follow through,set plans and goals, assist each other in the goals, nurture, teach, protect, defend and of course listen and learn from one another. The Miami dolphins, New York Yankee, and the Buffalo Bills are some of our favorite teams. My husband and I tend to listen to soft Jazz, while our girls listen to all current music. My daughter, Sophia listens and learns music of various languages at the philharmonic choir. We enjoy watching 'talent" shows, such as "The Voice"golf, and we all enjoy the "cooking channel" and the "discovery" channel. When we gather, we usually gather in kitchen and when at home I spend my time cooking and freezing meals. My children are in elementary, middle and high school. I drive them to and from school daily. We have tutoring and other activities after school so preparing supper and getting in a little exercise is what I usually do. We take time to travel together as a family.

Home and Community

We live in the State of Florida. Our home is a single family home. We live in a Suburban neighborhood. We are friends with our neighbors. We have dogs and cats.

I will be spending a lot of "one on one" time with the child. I will gracefully get him/her familiar with our home, yard, neighborhood and his/her bedroom to help nestle him/her into our family. I will then expose him/her to our beach,parks, theater,performing arts center, dance studios and swimming lessons. There are many parks and playgrounds.We have a pool at our home. We can walk accross the street to the Naples Philharmonic for many art programs,shows lessons and performances. We are in walking distance to a traim which takes us to the beach. We also live near the Naples Zoo The arts seem to be the answer to that. My older daughter attends acting classes at "kidz Act" down town. My second born daughter has been a member of the youth choir at the Naples Philharmonic for the past seven years. Our two youngest girls sing for the church choir.My children have also played volleyball and soccer with local teams. They have dance, ballet, and "hip-hop" lessons in near by studios.My oldest daughter has just started attending yoga classes. Each of our schools (Elementary, middle and high school) zoned for my area, are rated A-schools. Three of my four children attend the public schools. My oldest daughter attends a small private college prep school here in Naples (also has great ratings and college placement). We belong to the PTA, church advisory council, rotary, L.I. builders institute,chamber,WHB performing arts center board member and the S.Hampton BA.

Parenting Experience

I am a mother of four wonderful girls. (Ages 16, 14, and twins - 8)I have been a full time mother since I gave birth to my first child. As a family we have tackled many issues over the years. We do so as a family!! I have a B.S. in early education. My husband has a M.S. in elementary/secondary education. He spent many years as a teacher and a professor. I spent several years working as an assistant manager for a group home caring for mentally ill adults.

I will continue to be a "stay at home mom"We will seek the help of our schools,local doctors ,therapists, speech therapist, dentist etc. to promote and encourage personal growth.

Motivation to Adopt

We are all committed to this adoption and the challenges it might come with. Our children range from 17 yrs to 8yrs old. We have experienced many of the highs and lows of life and continue to be a strong loving family. We are invested 100%as a family, and will do what it takes to help our new addition. This child will receive unconditional love from each of us, patience from all of us and professional therapeutic services.
