Family Description

We are hoping to adopt a 6-8 year old girl! We will happily consider children of any race. We would like children who would enjoy being active in church, are able to be a part of our active lifestyle and could benefit from homeschooling as well!We cant wait to meet our new son and daughter! They will be a much prayed for and wanted addition to our family!! As with our other children, we will celebrate the ways God made them special while also showing them how they are a great addition to our family! We will help them maintain any healthy and beneficial relationships with their biological or foster families. Ryan and I (Devon) are parents to three wonderful children and are excited about welcoming more children into our family! God has already blessed us with Allyanna (biological daughter 2006), Ayden (adopted son 2012) and Kaylee (biological daughter 2014). Allyanna is an active girl who loves dance, soccer, horses, reading, and playing outside. Ayden is a busy boy who loves trucks, tractors, rocks, dirt, and being outside with his older sister. Kaylee is frequently described as the happiest little girl ever and enjoys trying to keep up with her older siblings ! We live on an 83 acre farm in Tennessee and enjoy spending time together on the farm. Common family activities include bike rides, walks, creeking, paddle boat rides on the pond, 4-wheeler rides, gardening, etc. We have dogs and horses. Both sets of grandparents live within 15 miles of us and our children enjoy seeing them regularly! Devon works PRN as a nurse, typically no more than one shift/week. This gives her a lot of time with the children and allows her to homeschool Allyanna. On the days she works, one or both grandmas spend the day at our home with the kids. Ryan is a School Resource Officer and adjunct college professor. He is a devoted father and husband. His work schedule also allows him to spend all school breaks at home with us, including extended time off during the summer. He also enjoys being a counselor for our church s kids camp. We are small group leaders at our church and are very active in our church community. We have a close network of friends and family who are supportive of us, our children, and of adoption. We live on a farm in Tennessee and enjoy our life in the country! On our 80+ acres we have paths for hikes through the woods, several creeks for creek-walking and swimming, a pond for swimming and paddle-boat rides, and a minimally-traveled gravel road for walks and bike-rides. We also have miniature horses, a riding pony, and a buggy horse and carriage. Our kids also enjoy our fully-enclosed trampoline, sandbox, and 2 swingsets. We are very active in our church and are small group leaders. There are 40 people in our small group - 20 adults and 20 children ranging from infant to 11 years old! The people in this group are some of our closest friends. Our family also enjoys travel. We make a yearly trip to the mountains and to the beach. Our oldest child plays soccer, takes dance, art, and piano lessons and we are a part of a local homeschool group. We live approx 1 hour from Nashville which has a fabulous childrens museum and a zoo to which we hold a membership. My (Devon) experience with children started young as a babysitter, tutor, and a childcare worker in church. As a nurse in an emergency room, I have also had much training and experience in assisting sick or injured children. However, I have learned the most about children in my experience as a mother. We have three children who teach me more every day! My husband, Ryan, also has experience as a church youth leader. In addition he has over 5 years experience as a school resource officer and 2 years experience as a SRO trainer. He is a wonderful dad as well and is very involved with our children. With his schedule, he is off all summer and on all school holidays, so he gets a lot of quality time with our kids. We have also finished PATH classes and have studied The Connected Child. We are small group leaders in our church and the families in that group are some of our closest friends. We interact with those families regularly and they are a huge source of support and blessing to our lives. They are all very excited about our next adoption! Both sets of grandparents live within 10 miles of us. My parents live on an adjoining farm, and Ryan's parents live 10 miles away. I work one day/week and on that day, both grandmothers come to our home to spent "grandma day" with our children. We are excited to once again be answering the call of James 1:27! We are THRILLED that God has called us to adopt again! We have been blessed with 3 miracles and feel ALL of our children are gifts from God - no matter how He chooses to send them to our family! We cant wait to meet our son and daughter! They will be much prayed for and wanted additions to our family!!
